What to Expect

Application & Interview Process

Once an application is submitted, you can expect to hear from a Talent Acquisition Specialist within 48-72 hours of submission. From there, if your application is advanced you will receive an email as well as a text message asking to schedule a brief, 15-minute phone interview to discuss the position and any questions you may have a little further.

If a candidate is advanced, they will be scheduled for an in-person interview with the hiring manager of that department and any other relevant leaders that surround the position. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will be in contact with the candidate throughout the entire process, providing detailed instructions and directions for interviews and available for any follow-up questions throughout the interview process.

As decisions are made, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will stay in contact with the candidate. If a decision is made to not move forward with a candidate, an email will be sent out promptly to inform the candidate of the decision and allow them the opportunity to ask for feedback or discuss any remaining questions. If a candidate is selected, the hiring manager will call with a verbal offer and, from there, our HR Generalist, Amelia Balzer, will be in touch to initiate the new hire screening and onboarding process.

New Hiring Screening Process
All offers made are contingent upon the successful completion of our pre-employment substance screening and criminal background check process. When a candidate has accepted an offer, they will be contacted to schedule a new hire screen. This process usually takes about 15 minutes and requires the new hire to come to their position’s campus to complete an on-site saliva drug screen.
Onboarding
After a new hire has accepted an offer, we will begin the onboarding process! This process requires the candidate to complete various documentation on our HRIS, Paycom. Once a new hire screen is scheduled, the candidate will receive their official offer letter as well as a link to their Paycom account.
Orientation

Once a new hire has completed their onboarding paperwork and their new hire screen is processed and cleared for hire, they will be notified and scheduled for orientation. Givens holds orientation every Wednesday morning for new team members where the HR Director will review various policies and procedures, benefits, history of the organization and more.

Orientation will also have an infection prevention component where one of our nurses will join the class to discuss proper hand hygiene, common viruses, exposure prevention and protocols, and what vaccines, if any, are available. After the presentation, the attending nurse will begin the 2-step TB screening process. A Tuberculosis (TB) test is administered by injecting a harmless fluid into the forearm with a small needle. The purpose of the test is to see if you have been infected with TB, which is a bacterial infection that can be very serious for seniors. After the first TB injection, you will get the injection site checked by an assigned nurse to assure that the test is negative. Givens then performs the test a second time to confirm the negative result, as the first test can sometimes be a false negative.

Once orientation concludes, new hires should expect to meet with their respective departments’ leadership to discuss training schedule and uniform requirements.
